The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office says that firefighters from several agencies are fighting a fast-moving fire that has spread to several buildings in East Lubbock County late Tuesday.

The sheriff's office said the first call about the fire in the 6200 block of East County Road 7260 came in at 9:51 p.m. People who called said that flames were threatening and then spread to several houses in the area.

Fire departments from Buffalo Springs, Woodrow, Ransom, and Slaton were sent to help put out the fire. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office is also receiving assistance from other police departments, such as the Slaton Police Department and the Buffalo Springs Police Department, with traffic control and scene security.

They said that as of late Tuesday night, they were not aware of any injuries related to the fire. The sheriff's office also said it was too early to tell if the fire was completely under control or how many buildings were damaged.

Emergency workers were still in the area, and people who lived nearby were told to stay away from the scene so that fire trucks and other emergency vehicles could move around easily.

Only after putting out all hot spots and deeming the scene safe can investigators determine what started the fire. The cause of the fire has not been shared yet.

The authorities said they would share more information as it comes in.
