The superintendent of the Lubbock Independent School District has been declared "fully exonerated" by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) after an investigation into a complaint lodged earlier this year, as stated in a district announcement on Monday.

LISD reports that the TEA's Educator Investigations Division has completed its review and determined that there is "no evidence of wrongdoing" by Superintendent Dr. Kathy Rollo. The agency officially informed Rollo about the investigation's outcome on Friday, Oct. 17, stating that the claims made against her lacked merit.

The TEA has officially closed the case following the findings. During the review process, the agency lifted the investigative warning on Dr. Rollo's educator certificate. The agency has lifted the investigative warning that was previously placed on Dr. Rollo’s educator certificate during the review process. The district's announcement lacked details regarding the specifics of the initial complaint or its filing date, merely describing it as a "complaint filed earlier this year."

The President of the LISD Board of Trustees, Ryan Curry, addressed the district community regarding the investigation and its results.

"The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has wrapped up its investigation into a complaint lodged earlier this year against Superintendent Dr. Kathy Rollo," Curry announced. "The TEA Educator Investigations Division concluded that there was no evidence of misconduct and deemed the allegations unfounded, thereby completely clearing Dr. Rollo of any wrongdoing." Curry's statement underscored the definitive nature of the decision and conveyed gratitude for the superintendent's cooperation throughout the review process.

"The investigation has concluded, and the alert has been lifted from her record," Curry stated. "We express our gratitude for the TEA’s comprehensive evaluation and extend our thanks to Dr. Rollo for her complete collaboration during this process."

The Educator Investigations Division of the TEA plays a crucial role in ensuring that Texas educators adhere to statutory requirements and ethical standards while also probing into claims of misconduct or breaches of state certification regulations. The conclusion of the case brings clarity to the investigation surrounding Rollo's actions in connection with the complaint.
