From July 2 to July 6, places across the South Plains will be celebrating Independence Day with parades, live music, food trucks, and fireworks. These cities include Plainview, Lubbock, Brownfield, Slaton, Lamesa, Wolfforth, and Buffalo Springs Lake.
On July 2, the 20th annual Red, White, and Moo Freedom Parade and Milk Fest will take place at Runningwater Draw Park in Plainview. The Plainview Chamber of Commerce and the city of Plainview put together the event, which has a mobile dairy school, bounce houses, face painting, free dairy treats, and fireworks at night. The park starts at 5 p.m., and fun things to do begin at 6:30 p.m.
Brownfield's party starts in Coleman Park at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, with a golf cart parade, a car show, and live music. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a watermelon eating contest, and then there will be fireworks.
The famous 4th on Broadway in Lubbock is back on Friday, July 4. The parade starts near First Baptist Church at 9:45 a.m. and goes down Broadway into Mackenzie Park. The lineup for the evening includes:

Wolfforth's 4th on the 5th party is this Saturday, July 5, and instead of fireworks, there will be a drone light show.
Sunday, July 6, is the last day of Independence Day celebrations. There will be fireworks over Buffalo Springs Lake. At the lake's administration office, you can get a wristband.
