Free Ice Cream at Millie's Grand Opening, June 1

A new ice cream shop in Lubbock is having a big opening-day party, and customers will get free ice cream.

Millie's, at 114th Street and Slide Road, will be open Monday from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will give away free ice cream all day as a party.

At noon, there will be a formal celebration with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce to cut the ribbon. The event is free for everyone, so people in the neighborhood can meet Millie's team and enjoy the opening festivities.

The big opening is the shop's first appearance in the south Lubbock area, which is growing. The event organizers hope to attract families, locals, and ice cream fans.
