On May 16, 2025, Truman, Ava, and Cate Crawford marked a turning point in their lives, celebrating their graduation from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The triplets from Round Rock, Texas, are woven into the fabric of the university, their bond extending beyond mere student life to encompass a rich family legacy that traces back to their grandparents, who first crossed paths at Texas Tech.
Ava Crawford reminisced about their inaugural trip to Lubbock in 2012 during a conversation with KCBD. “I believe our journey began at Red Raider Outfitters, where [our grandfather] seemed to have emptied the entire store for us and our cousins,” she recounted. Their initial encounter etched into their memories, molding a collective aspiration to pursue higher education at the university.
In 2021, the triplets embarked on their journey at Texas Tech, each choosing a path within the College of Media and Communication.
Truman focused on earning a degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication Management. Ava pursued a degree in Creative Media Industries. Cate completed her journey with a degree in Digital Media and Professional Communication.
Having finished his degree six months ahead of schedule, Truman has embarked on his professional journey, taking on a role with the Texas Senate under the guidance of Sen. Brian Birdwell on the Border Security Committee.
Cate, having gained experience through her internship with the Texas Workforce Commission, is set to take on the role of campaign coordinator for the organization's Office of Media and Communications.
Ava envisions her return to Austin, where she aspires to embark on a journey in content creation.
The trio pondered the importance of their shared graduation, a seamless continuation of the deep connection that has united them since the beginning of their lives. “We’ve shared every moment of our journey through life,” Truman remarked. “Experiencing another significant milestone in our lives that we've all shared together holds immense value.”
As they embarked on their separate journeys, the siblings expressed gratitude for the Red Raider community and the memories forged in Lubbock. “We’re filled with anticipation, and we’re definitely going to miss Texas Tech,” Cate expressed. “However, I believe it's a positive aspect that we'll be absent—because it signifies how significant it has been to us throughout these past four years.”
The Crawfords’ journey at Texas Tech, starting with their initial visit to the bookstore and culminating on graduation day, has been a significant chapter—one that will accompany them as they embark on their next adventures.
