A local woman has taken on a new role in advocating for disability awareness. Elisha Aguirre, a resident of Lubbock, has been awarded the title of Mrs. Wheelchair Texas.

This title has given her a platform to focus on advocacy work. She is also pursuing a national title, Mrs. Wheelchair America.
