Woman jailed after crash, attempted escape in Lubbock

 A woman is in custody after allegedly fleeing from police following a crash early Wednesday in Lubbock, authorities said.Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Armani Gonzales, who is accused of evading arrest after crashing her vehicle around 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of Marsha Sharp Freeway and Boston Avenue.

According to authorities, Gonzales initially struck a traffic sign before exiting her vehicle and running from the scene.

Officers with the Texas Tech Police Department were the first to arrive and began searching for the suspect.

The Lubbock Police Department later located Gonzales and took her into custody.

She has been charged with evading arrest and is also facing additional unrelated warrants, police said.

No injuries were reported in connection with the crash.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
