On Monday, June 2, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., a ceremony will take place at the UMC McInturff Conference Center to honor four physicians who will be awarded prestigious endowed positions by UMC Health System and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC).
Dr. Tyler Mouw and Dr. Brendan MacKay will receive Endowed Professorships, whereas Dr. Jacob Nichols and Dr. Lukman Tijani will be honored with Endowed Chairs. The ceremony will serve as a significant occasion, highlighting the introduction of two prestigious honors: the Edward Yeomans, MD Endowed Chair for Excellence in Oncology and the Douglas Klepper Professorship for Excellence in Surgery.
The accolades are a component of the UMC Endowment for Excellence, established in 1996 to promote progress in clinical care, graduate medical education, and innovative medical initiatives. Since its inception, the initiative has celebrated the establishment of 11 Endowed Chairs and four Endowed Professorships.
“This ceremony honors exceptional clinicians for their dedication to patient care, education, and scholarship,” stated Dr. Mike Ragain, Chief Medical Officer of UMC. “This moment serves to illuminate the profound, cooperative bond shared by UMC and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine — a partnership vital to the success of both entities.”
