The 2025 Women's College World Series is set to begin, and Texas Tech is ready for history to be made. The Red Raiders were the first team to get to Oklahoma City. They beat Florida State in straight sets in the Super Regionals. Their first game has been set: Texas Tech will play Ole Miss on Thursday at 6 p.m., and the game will be shown on ESPN2.

Like Texas Tech, Ole Miss will be going to the WCWS for the first time. They beat No. 4 Arkansas 7–4 in the Super Regional on Sunday and were shocked. Along with these two teams, Oregon and UCLA are at the top of the draw. They will play later Thursday to end Day 1 action.

Oklahoma is one of the tournament favorites, and Texas, Florida, and Tennessee are on the other side. This makes for an exciting run to the national title.

The journey of Texas Tech is a big step forward for the school, and Thursday's game looks like it will be one of the most exciting ones on WCWS opening day.
