One person was killed in a two-car accident on State Highway 194 early Saturday morning.
About 2:40 a.m., police were called to the highway to investigate reports of a crash. A preliminary analysis shows that a Ford Mustang going southeast crossed into the other lane and hit a Ford F-150 going northwest head-on.
Jorge Cervantes, 20, of Plainview, was driving the Mustang when it crashed. He was seriously hurt and declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford F-150 has not yet been given a status update, and officials have not confirmed whether any other people were involved in the crash.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated, and no other information has been released. It's unclear if speed, drunkenness, or the state of the road played a part.
Motorists in the area had to wait a short time while police cleared the scene and collected evidence.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is running the probe. Anyone with knowledge should contact the police in their area.
