During the 23rd annual Memorial Day service held in Lubbock, which was organized by the Nancy Anderson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, more than 2,000 veterans laid to rest at the historic City of Lubbock Cemetery were honored on Monday.

The event emphasised serious remembering rather than celebration, as evidenced by the placement of American flags on each grave and the silent tributes shared among family members, friends, and strangers.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard delivered the colors, which were followed by a 21-gun salute, the playing of TAPS, and patriotic music.

Jose G. Salinas III, president of the Veterans of Wars Motorcycle Club, was one of the volunteers who supported the event for years. Salinas remarked, "You are not forgotten."

A person who is an American who has genuinely sacrificed their life for this flag is shown here. One of the many things that he mentioned as a reminder of the cemetery's profound historical significance was the gravesite of a veteran who had served in the Spanish-American War.

The organizers highlighted that the day is not about celebrating but rather about contemplating the price paid for freedom and ensuring that no veteran is overlooked in honor of their service.
